Sophia + Adnan | Wedding
This weekend was my first wedding of the 2009 season. Sophia and Adnan are both very warm individuals and their families are nothing but lighthearted and fun. Adnan is, in his mind, a Bollywood superstar. He has the confidence to let his extraordinary sense of humor shine without thinking twice. Sophia has a certain composure that seems very calming and apparently, by the slideshows shown at the reception, has probably gone through more hairstyles than Christina Aguilera.
I had the wonderful opportunity of working with them on their gorgeous three day wedding. I figured the best way to organize this post is chronologically, so everything is broken down by the individual days with brief descriptions. Enjoy...
The Nikkah (Day 1) - The first day consisted of a brief religious ceremony at the gazebo of Duke Gardens followed by the ring exchange and a portrait session. The weather was absolutely amazing and the whole event was extremely laid back.

The Mehndi (Day 2) - The second day was definitely the most fun. The Mehndi is pretty much a super bridal party. It started off with family and friends greeting the couple and feeding them sweets. Then the cousins came out to dance, followed by a dance from close friends, and it ended with a surprise dance presentation from the groom himself.
....................................................................................................................................................................................................................
The Shadi (Day 3) - The third day was the main wedding reception at a beautiful ballroom in the Hilton Hotel and consisted of speeches from close family and friends. This was the main event and the outfit she wore was the official bridal dress. I absolutely loved doing the bridal session.

I want to thank you for posting these and also giving a breakdown of the different days. I have been curious to learn more about Indian weddings. Great photography!

Saad, man, I don't have words to explain my admiration! Great, great, great!
That is the best traditional wedding I've seen so far, ever! Pictures of the bride with light are ART! Bride and groom are very lucky to have you as their photographer!
