The Lazaretto Crew | Sameer's Gig

Two posts in one day! Yea, I've been sitting on this post for about a week now...

Sameer, one of my best friends and an up and coming photographer (not to mention my second shooter), is working with me on an advertising and documentation project we have going on for The Lazaretto Crew. These guys were performing at a local underground concert last week. Sameer went and took all of these pictures and I post-processed them.

Here's some shots of the overall event:

New Business Cards

So, a while ago I had made a post about my new business card design. Well, they finally came in a few days ago. The logo and the information on the back are spot UV glossy and the whole card is a silk based stock. Check it out:

David Gaafar Productions

The end of the semester is here and time just seems to fly. I haven't had time to blog in a week. Anyway, I had the opportunity to work with David Gaafar, a film school graduate and aspiring director from Los Angeles. I actually met him a few years back, but didn't really become friends until recently. I cannot put into words how cool and funny this guy is. He is extremely skilled at what he does and, more importantly, it is an absolute amazing experience working with him. Our work styles and personalities are extremely fluid with each other and I love his professionalism and timeliness. So, S2S will be offering videography packages with David Gaafar Productions.

He flew out from L.A. to document Sophia and Adnan's wedding. The following is a short highlights trailer from the three day wedding. The video can be seen in HD on the Vimeo page. Enjoy...

Sophia + Adnan | Wedding

This weekend was my first wedding of the 2009 season. Sophia and Adnan are both very warm individuals and their families are nothing but lighthearted and fun. Adnan is, in his mind, a Bollywood superstar. He has the confidence to let his extraordinary sense of humor shine without thinking twice. Sophia has a certain composure that seems very calming and apparently, by the slideshows shown at the reception, has probably gone through more hairstyles than Christina Aguilera.

I had the wonderful opportunity of working with them on their gorgeous three day wedding. I figured the best way to organize this post is chronologically, so everything is broken down by the individual days with brief descriptions. Enjoy...

The Nikkah (Day 1) - The first day consisted of a brief religious ceremony at the gazebo of Duke Gardens followed by the ring exchange and a portrait session. The weather was absolutely amazing and the whole event was extremely laid back.

The Mehndi (Day 2) - The second day was definitely the most fun. The Mehndi is pretty much a super bridal party. It started off with family and friends greeting the couple and feeding them sweets. Then the cousins came out to dance, followed by a dance from close friends, and it ended with a surprise dance presentation from the groom himself.

The Shadi (Day 3) - The third day was the main wedding reception at a beautiful ballroom in the Hilton Hotel and consisted of speeches from close family and friends. This was the main event and the outfit she wore was the official bridal dress. I absolutely loved doing the bridal session.
