Leanne + Mike | Couple's Session

As soon as I met Leanne and Mike, I picked up on the bond they have. It's pretty easy to actually - it shows itself in the way Mike makes her laugh and the way she looks at him after a smile. We went out to UNC where Leanne went to school a few years ago and spent the day hanging out around Franklin Street. I left the strobes at home and decided to shoot with ambient light. The day was cycling through cloudy and sunny and gave us a good mix of light quality.

Jennifer + Dustin | Couple's Session

I had the pleasure of shooting Jennifer and Dustin's engagement pictures at Wilmington, NC. It was supposed to be storming all day, but as it turned out, the day was absolutely beautiful. We decided to shoot in downtown Wilmington, a park, and by the beach.

These two were extremely laid back and very fun to work with. Jennifer is a nurse and Dustin is an Air Force safety personnel. The guy builds ejection seats, gets to do 8.5G's in fighter jet tests, and trains pilots in survival tactics... yet he thinks his job is ordinary! They are a very down to earth couple and we all had an amazing time.

Azra + Omar | Couple's Session

This was a quick and clean session - maybe 15 minutes long total. The sun was going down and it was an extremely overcast day, so the light was fleeting fast. I had just enough time to play around with off camera lighting for a backlit shot - everything else is shot via ambient. With everything around us wet and soggy, I decided to make the most of my time and get the couple very clean cut compositions. At the end, I have a group shot of these guys with Nadia and Muj from the previous post - both shoots were back to back. The group shot had lot of post production work done on it as I only had one speedlite on me and it only managed to light up Muj in the foreground.

Nadia + Mujtaba | Couple's Session

I just shot a couple's session for these two lovebirds. They had been very unhappy with the wedding photos their photographer had taken two years ago and asked me to fit them in when she got back from med school in the islands. It started to rain and everything got dark, but we did our best. I wanted to keep the session very "personal" and implement the use of some off camera lighting. Enjoy!

Hanna + Ziyad | Engagement

I had the opportunity to cover Hanna's "official engagement dinner". A lot of Egyptians have a formal party with a 'sherbet' drinking ritual to mark the engagement of the couple. So, think of this shoot as pretty much an engagement session - except that it was at the Radison and there were probably 200+ people there.

Most of the time, I was inside covering the dinner and speeches. I, literally, only had 5 minutes to grab some pictures of the couple by themselves. So, no time to really get any creative juices flowing - took them outside, made them laugh, shot a few frames, and then went back inside.
